Walgreens and Alliance Boots combined on December 31, 2014 to establish Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc., a new holding company. Walgreens was spun off as a subsidiary of the new company, which is headquartered in Deerfield and trades on the Nasdaq under the name WBA.
