The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) is an American global consumer goods conglomerate headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. William Procter and James Gamble formed the company in 1837.

It focuses on personal health/consumer health, as well as personal care and hygiene items; these products are divided into numerous categories, including Beauty, Grooming, Health Care, Fabric & Home Care, and Baby, Feminine, & Family Care. P&G’s product portfolio included food, snacks, and beverages prior to its sales of Pringles to Kellogg’s.

P&G made $83.1 billion in revenue in 2014. P&G stated on August 1, 2014, that it would be streamlining the firm, dropping and selling about 100 brands from its product portfolio in order to focus on the remaining 65 brands, which generated 95% of the company’s revenues. P&G’s future would be “a much simpler, far less complex corporation of top brands that’s easier to manage and administer,” according to A.G. Lafley, the company’s chairman, and CEO until October 31, 2015.
